Ute Lemper: Songs from the HEART
Ute performs the jewels of chanson, a selection from her 35 years of career between Berlin/ Paris/ London and New York. The concert is streamed from her home in New York over the rooftops of Manhattan. She will interpret songs by Jacques Brel/ Edith Piaf/ Kurt Weill/ Joni Mitchell/ Kander and Ebb and many more that marked her career and mission.
Ute Lemper’s career is vast and varied. She has made her mark on the stage, in films, in concert and as a unique recording artist and a composer of song cycles. She has been universally praised for her interpretations of Berlin Cabaret Songs, the works of Kurt Weill and Berthold Brecht and the French Chansons as well as her portrayals on Broadway, in Paris, Berlin and in London’s West End such as Velma Kelly in Chicago, as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, as Peter in Peter Pan, as Bombalurina in Cats, as Lola in the Blue Angel, as Anna in the 7 Deadly Sins and numerous other roles in plays and musicals around the world. She was awarded with Honors such as the Laurence Olivier Award , the French Moliere Award, the American Theatre Award and received multiple Grammy nominations. Her last creation is an Hommage to Marlene Dietrich, a self penned play, based on the true story of a 3 hour phone call between Ute and Marlene in 1987 in Paris, when Ute was 24 years old and Marlene was 87 years old.
