Violinists Paul Huang and Danbi Um, and pianist Amy Yang bring their effortless virtuosity and distinctive sound to DREAMSTAGE on Friday, September 25th.
Possessing a luscious tone and limitless reserve of feeling, Huang (a 2017 Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists winner) is quickly establishing himself as one of the leading artists of his generation.
A Menuhin International Violin Competition Silver Medalist, Um has also been impressing audiences worldwide with her mesmerizing virtuosity, interpretive sensitivity and “marvelous show of superb technique” (The Strad).
A “jaw-dropping” performer, Yang is sought-after as a soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue. Winner of the 2018 Musical Fund Society of Philadelphia prize and the Kosciuszko National Chopin Piano Competition, she has also premiered works by Michael Hersch, Caroline Shaw and Avner Dorman, Ezra Laderan, Paul Wianko, and Hua Yang. Together, these talented artists promise an intimate evening of music that is simply not to be missed.
The evening’s program will be introduced by Fred Child, acclaimed host and presenter of Performance Today, Live from Lincoln Center, and festivals and events across the country. Child brings his unique knowledge to the program commentary and will lead a live, exclusive interview with the artists following the performance.
